LOW CARBON BUSINESS ACTION IN BRAZIL

The project Low Carbon Business Action is an European-funded initiative that aims at engaging Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) from Brazil and from 28 Member States in Europe through a series of Business Matchmaking Missions (MM) to be held between September 2015 and February 2018.

The business rounds will promote the exchange of innovative experiences, supporting companies into their transition to low carbon technologies and resource efficient processes within the Action's target sub-sectors and related areas, which mostly contribute to the Brazilian emissions of Greenhouse Gases (GHG).

OBJECTIVES

  • Promote the sustainable transition of SMEs to low carbon technologies and resource-efficient processes
  • Internationalize EU SMEs and support innovation, competitiveness and environment and economic sustainability of local counterparts
  • Support national low carbon emission strategies for tackling climate change
  • Expand emerging companies and create new ones in the low carbon technology sector, including equipment producers and service providers

LOW CARBON SECTORS

Some sectors are responsible for the major part of greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions in Brazil. Many European companies have innovated in the development of environment-friendly technology, green solutions and processes. Low Carbon Business Action in Brazil fosters the competitiveness and sustainability of Brazilian SMEs in the following areas:

OVERVIEW OF THE MATCHMAKING MISSIONS

  • Sponsored 3-4 Days of Programme (travel and accommodation mostly covered by the Action)
  • European SMEs selected for the missions will meet with identified potential Brazilian partners
  • Access to Brazilian low carbon Sector Mappings
  • B2B meetings
  • Business support services, i.e. interpretation and coaching
  • Possibility to showcase products and services to a selected audience of companies and partner institutions
  • Guided visits to Brazilian trade fairs, seminars and conference
  • Professional follow-up for further EU ''Technical Assistance'' to implement Cooperation Partnership Agreements in Phase II of LCBA (due in August 2017)

    INSTITUTIONAL NETWORK

    Low Carbon Business Action in Brazil is implemented with the support of Brazilian and EU institutions that form its Project Steering Committee .

    Other organizations, business intermediaries and sector representations may also register as partners and benefit from the Action.
