GENERAL INFORMATION

The mapping research of the solar energy sector shows that the Brazilian market is growing very fast in the photovoltaic area. The solar water-heating business segment is already mature and reaches impressive figures, placing the country among the top 10 in the world, but still with plenty of space to grow.

Brazil is well-positioned in the sub-sector of liquid bio-fuels for transport, but there is still demand for technology and innovation in the areas of advanced biofuels, biorefineries and biojetfuel. Waste materials are still underexplored as source of biomass for energy, despite its great potential.

The upcoming wind energy generation projects in Brazil will account for additional 4.155 MW to the national grid, upgrading the installed capacity in the country from the current 10.535 MW to 18.272 MW. There is also a great potential for the insertion of SMEs in the wind energy added-value chain.

See below for  the identified business and technology opportunities in the three major sectors covered by this next LCBA matchmaking mission.
